
Megan Ronk has served as the Executive Director of the Idaho Meth Project since May 2007. Tasked with launching and sustaining this important prevention and public awareness initiative throughout the state, Megan has successfully raised over $3 million to sustain this program in Idaho. Ronk also heads up the Idaho Meth Project's media, community awareness, public relations and public policy activities.
Prior to working with the Idaho Meth Project, Megan spent over five years as a Policy Advisor to former Governor and current U.S. Secretary of Interior Dirk Kempthorne. In this position, Megan worked on a variety of public policy issues including criminal justice, substance abuse, economic development, international trade and workforce development.
In addition to coordinating the Governor's trade missions to Asia and Mexico, Megan led a variety of legislative issues for the Executive Branch. In 2004, Megan organized the Idaho Criminal Justice Commission - this was the first opportunity for state and local stakeholders from throughout the criminal justice system to discuss issues of mutual importance and make specific recommendations to the Governor. Of note, in 2006 Megan led the charge in introducing and passing the Criminal Gang Enforcement Act and critical changes to Idaho's sex offender laws. Megan also led legislative efforts to form Idaho's clandestine lab cleanup standards program, and worked with numerous stakeholders on pseudoephedrine regulation and the development of drug endangered children protocols throughout Idaho.
Megan has a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona, and a BA in Business Administration from the College of Idaho in Caldwell, Idaho. She serves on the Idaho Human Rights Commission, the Alumni Board for the College of Idaho and the Board of Directors for Dress for Success Boise Valley. In 2008, Megan was honored with the "Accomplished Under 40" award by the Idaho Business Review.
