I tried meth for the first time when I was 18. A few years went by, and I started getting into it really bad. To the point that I gave my kids away, because I couldn't take care of them anymore. After a few more years of use, I contracted Hepatitis C. After a few years more, I got arrested on a possession charge and did 5 years in prison, losing absolutely everything in life. Prison made me open my eyes to life, and what I had to offer myself. I have been out of prison for 16 months, and I now have a good life. I have been clean for over 6 years, and I feel great. Meth is not an option for me in my new life. As sad and sick as it may sounds, I am glad that I finally got caught and went to prison. I honestly don't think I would be writing this today had it not been for my long trip away.
